The PhD program
The project will fully support the training of 11 PhD students in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, and Mathematics Education. The PhD students will be recruited and trained on the existing local curricula at Makerere University and University of Dar es Salaam. Some of the curricula will be reviewed to help incorporate some of the project areas of focus. The PhD students will be supervised by local, regional and Norwegian supervisors.
OTHER PROJECT ACTIVITIES
- CONFERENCES AND WORKSHOPS
- The project will support few staff members and PhD students to attend conferences and workshops.
- The project will organise two conferences, one in Tanzania and the other in Uganda
- OUTREACH ACTIVITIES
The project will organise training sessions every year on the use of mathematics software in the teaching and learning of mathematics to secondary school teachers in Tanzania and Uganda.
